Hunger. Hunger is all you feel and know. In a vague portion of your mind you remember that there had once been so much more. You had a job. You had a family. But now as you catch the whiff of something delicious, that vague memory is forgotten.

You groan hungrily as you see one of the living, its movement catching your rotting eye. You stagger onward, driven by your sole desire for flesh.

DETAILS

Epic Effects’ Unpainted Open Brain Zombie is a full mask that has seen livelier days. Once a human face, it has been transformed into a decaying undead. The left side of the skull is dominated by a grotesque wound that exposes the brain. This mask features a gnawed off nose and rotting flesh that reveals a jawbone beneath. The eyes of the mask are large with good visibility.

The mask fits over your face and chin, moving with your natural jaw movement. The mask is made from thick 100% natural high-quality latex, making it strong and durable, ensuring long life and extended reuse. The mask is a medium fit made with good room for breathing and ventilation, thus improving comfort with extended wear.

HOW TO USE:

We love offering do-it-yourself products like this unpainted mask. You can easily get the colouring you desire and set yourself apart from other zombies who use our already painted versions. Latex masks are best painted with a latex based paint, covered in thin layers and allowed to dry completely between coats. Finish with a dusting of baby powder. You can also use our water-based makeup in addition to paint, or on its own, for a more temporary fix.

INSPIRATION

  • Zombies are most commonly found in horror and fantasy genre stories
  • The term zombie comes from Haitian folklore, describing a dead body animated by magic
  • The concept of zombies was first exposed to the Western culture with W.B. Seabrook’s The Magic Island in 1929

  • Thick 100% natural high-quality latex skin
  • Clear, fine details
  • Excellent fit, modelled on a living person
  • Expressive face that fits over the jawline, allowing the mouth to move with your natural jaw movement
  • Easy to maintain
  • Multiple reuses

After each use, wash the inside of the mask with a damp sponge or cloth with a mild detergent to remove the natural oils from your skin. After drying, dust it lightly with baby powder.

Additionally, this Epic Effects Latex mask requires Epic Armory Silicone spray to help keep the latex flexible and to protect the mask against dirt, wear and tear. Spray the silicone directly on your mask and work it into the entire surface with a cloth.

Store the mask on a Styrofoam head or stuff it with plastic garbage bags to retain its shape.
